I was just asked by my good Friend, Heidi, to do her and Derek's Engagement photos for them in August. I am in her wedding party , and they are getting married in the Dominican this January. My enthusiasm is great and gives me even more motivation to learn everything about my camera and learn what kind of poses work!!
Any creative ideas?

Photo To-Do List
I previously posted my to-do list for Thursday and Friday. And while I still have not completed the full list, I have done most of it and others..I thought it would be fun to take pics of what I did and do a PHOTO to-do list. Yes I sometimes get bored, how can you tell?
So Here's what I accomplished the past 2 days;
This is the one I am most happy about, I hate having a dirty bathroom. So it makes me so happy to walk in to a spotless bathroom!!
I even cleaned my medicine Cabinet, and yes I took pics of it too!!
Again, apologies for the blurred pics..Bare with me as I learn the manual settings on my camera.
Even finger nail clippers were aligned!!
I washed my sheets and finished the remaining laundry:
This wasn't on my to-do list..but it had to get done. I organized our back doorway. So much clutter was there, it is so nice to have it cleaned out!
My house was very in need of some dusting, so even though I didn't originally plan to do that, I did it!
I worked on my photography course!!

I worked on my photography course!!
I worked out on the wii fit
While I didn't wash all of my floors, I did sweep and vacuum my house, and washed parts of my floor.
I also Cut the grass..no pic

I Took the dog to the vet and got her shots.
And the kids and I did play outside together, however their moods didn't stay good very long so again no picture of that.
What do I have left to do:
Paint the decals on my kids walls.
Clean under my fridge and stove. (I am really dreading this job, so the excuse that I need my husband to move them for me, fits pretty good)--in fact I think any excuse would do!!
I still need to mow my front lawn.
That is it for this weekend, as we are heading to Regina for the football game. But I have in deed started my to-do list for next week!! Which includes:
Declutter Master Bedroom
Organize downstairs (AAHHH, yes I have done this once already, but the kids toys all had to get moved down there while we did the room switcheroo...and ya...that's all I'll say haha)
Mow the lawn (never ending)
Laundry (never ending)
Go for my pre-op in Estevan.
Pick my dad up from airport (YAY Minot !!)
Enjoy a day at either the pool or beach (weather permitting!)
That's where I'm at thus far for next week. The bedroom and basement are my 2 big jobs and will take a lot of time , FROWN!
Have a great weekend everyone, and show your RIDER PRIDE..I know I will be!!

Smiles and sore muscles
Yesterday was a bit better of a day. I think my kids are permanently grouchy though, at least when they are with me anyways. I think they are totally different kids when I am not around, b/c everyone raves about how good they are, and how they care about each other so much. Then I get home from work and I have 2 kids that do nothing but bicker and fight with each other, whine over the simplest things and only want to eat JUNK! Doesn't help that as a person I don't have a lot of patience..and that's one trait as a mother that I seriously need to work on, and am working on.
Even with the bickering, whining kids I managed to get on my wii-fit for a full hour last night!! I was so pleased with myself and felt so good after doing it. It's made me think though..July will be here next week and I have not once broke out my rollerblades!! The streets should be clean enough, of rocks and rubble, to be able to get a good "blade" on! Perhaps tonight..I say perhaps b/c every muscle in my body is screaming at me right now as if to say "NO NO , WE DO NOT WANT TO GET IN SHAPE!!"
Thursday and Friday I will be at home and I have a lot on my to-do list.
-Paint the decals on the kids walls.
-Clean my bathroom top to bottom (it's been neglected for over a week! GROSS!)
-Clean under my fridge and stove (SOO not looking forward to this, as I have not once done it since we moved in)
-Take the dog to the vet for her shots.
-Vacuum
-Sweep & mop
-Wash sheets & any remaining laundry
-work on my photography course
-work out on the wiifit
-play with and enjoy my grumpy children
-Mow the grass
-Grocery shop
I think I can do it. .....
Saturday is back to Regina for the football game. I have to decide today what my plans are. My mom really wants to keep the kids while I am at it, and I really did not want to spend the night, as I have A LOT to do (see list above , that I KNOW will run into the weekend).
Next week I go for my pre-op for surgery. So I get to get my blood taken , etc, etc. I am dreading it. The only thing I hate about surgery is the needles. I hate getting blood taken, and I hate when they put the IV in. I also hate getting stitches taken out. July 14th seemed a long ways away, but it is already sneaking up very fast!
July 8th is the big day I turn 26! Do I feel excited about birthdays anymore? Not really, not for mine anyways. My husband is always working and the rig rarely ever shuts down in time to go for supper. And if it does, you do not know til last minute and have pretty much shunned any oppurtunity to find a sitter.
Any creative ideas of what we should do for our "Rider Gear" this game? Last game we did the S's on our face...I don't know what to do this time.

Sigh no pics..
I am at work right now, as it seems to be the only time of day I CAN blog (I am sure everyone has heard my complaints about not being very busy--even though I am only working part time now...I still find it hard to fill my day!).
I have taken some pics over the weekend, and will try and upload them in the near future. We have been having problems with our internet since Thursday night, so have been without all weekend. Sneaky me has been "borrowing" other people's internet a bit over the weekend. sshhh.. Hopefully everything is up and running by this evening.
We had a very nice weekend here. The weather was just beautiful, could not have asked for any better, thus the kids and I spent all day Friday and Saturday outside. I got to do a little work on my laptop for my photography course. And the kids got to play in their pool (of course I took pics!!).
Saturday evening I had an Epicure party at Denise's house. It was very casual, and my whole family was invited. It was more like a BBQ using all Epicure products. Very tasty. In the afternoon on this day, we all came inside as the kids were getting a bit cranky. Paige went to bed, and I plugged a movie in for Dom. However, I did not even get to hit play before he conked out on the couch. So, again, I went back to work on my photography course. A little while later, I see Dominic walk by the living room entrance. I'm like oh that was a shortlive quiteness. THEN I hear water running...I go running and here is my oh so lovely son, PEEING on my living room area rug!!! What gives? He immediately burst into tears when I asked him what he was doing, and I came to the conclusion that he was sleep walking and did not even realize he did it. OY!!
Sunday the kids and I headed back outside to spend another beautiful day in the great outdoors. We were interrupted about noon though, as Jared called and said he was off and to meet him in Carnduff so we could head to Pierson for his cousin's grad BBQ. So on the road we went!! We had a lovely day there. The kids loved petting the horses, and Dom walking through every trail he could find to "shoot some deer" (Jared's Aunt Cindy had a little toy Bow & Arrow that he LOVED!). And as luck would have it , Aunt Cindy allowed him to bring it home with him. He was in heaven but I was thinking "oh joy another toy"
Monday I was back to work and the kids were back to Sarah's. After work and after picking up the kids we headed back home. And the fun began. Paige hadn't napped all day, so she fell asleep on the living room floor. Dominic watched a cartoon while I tried to clean up our disaster of a house. And let me tell you , what I heard next was definetly NOT music to my ears. The little "angel" PEED ON MY FLOOR AGAIN!!! Arrrgghh I was so angry, but trying to be rational, I am sure a lot of you moms know that feeling. So I told him to get to his room and escorted him there..all in the meanwhile tripping over toys laying all over the floor. And in this chaos, of course Paige woke up and now she was cranky too.
I put them both in their "room" (if you can call it that, it's more like a pig pen). and closed the door. I had to cool down I was so irritated. I decided enough was enough, they had so many toys that they didn't even know what to do with them. I took two great big garbage bags and bagged them all up. And now they will have to gradually earn their toys back. Is this cruel?? I think not, I think it will make them appreciate and enjoy their toys more..and learn that if they don't keep them picked up...Mommy means business and WILL take them away.
So after all the commotion , and after I had calmed down completely I sat the 2 kids down and told them why I took their toys away. And told Dom why I was upset with him. (How much good it did to have this talk with a 2 yr old and 4 yr old I am not sure...) But I do know they were both quite heartbroken that they were left with one toy each. I felt bad, but stood my ground and will follow through with being strict about this. They will soon be moving in to their new room, and I want it to look nice!!
SIGH.
I am hoping today after work will be a much better day. My house is semi clean so that helps the stress level stay down. Hopefully it will with the kiddos too.

Only a lifetime more left!
Today I found out that on Monday July 14th I will have one less tumor in my body!! I go for surgery that day and am very excited. I know a lot of you must think I am crazy that I am looking forward to surgery. But I really am. These tumors are so painful and it's such a relief to get them removed!! And this surgery is not NEAR as serious as past ones that I have had. It is just a day surgery.
The doctors I have went to believe I have a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis. You can read more about it here.

Things to do this summer.
I subscribe to Canadian Living magazine. I love flipping through this magazine every month. This month they had a section called "30 fun (mostly free) things to do with your kids this summer.
I know I would probably be unrealistic to think I am going to do the whole list in our busy hectic summer. But I am going to try to accomplish as many as I can. I will post pictures along with the "thing" we are doing.
I look forward to putting myself to the challenge. I have definetly been known to be lazy. So not only will this be a great experience for the kids, it will be for me too. AND I get to practice more picture taking!

Fun in the Sun!!!
I know that our part of the province was really lacking as fas as moisture goes...but we were really anxious to have some Sun to play in the yard !!! And finally today was that day (another reason why I am happy to only be working 3 days a week now--for I would have missed this day with the kids).
Dominic got a cool new sprinkler from Auntie Amber for his 4th bday...so we tried it out today!
This is before I mowed the grass ( I had trouble finding more gas to fill up the lawn mower)

Wii-Fit
A girl Friend of mine, Sarah and I have been obsessed with finding "WiiFit" since it became available in May. On Friday she found us each one!!
After a busy weekend, I finally got a chance to use it !!! And I must say I am LOVIN' it!!
I am normal in my weight. However in "Wii Fit" age, I am 32 years old. It measures your balance, weight and posture to conclude what your "wii-fit" age. So in this game I am 6 years older than I actually am. I definetly know posture and balance are big issues. And I look forward to using this game, and yes I call it a game b/c it's too fun to call a workout!!

Mallory and her BF Chris.
Even Dominic got in on the Rider action. He was a little disappointed, however when he found out he wasn't actually coming to the game.

Friday is the start of Rider Season, with the first preseason game at Mosaic Stadium.
How I have missed the excitement that being in the crowd brings. How I have missed the cheers and high fives, the beers & the smiles. How I have missed cheering on our province's CFL team!! How I have missed Mr Gainer the gopher!!! And of course, I even missed THE WAVE!!
This summer will be full of trips to Regina to watch and cheer on the one and only team I cheer for!!
The 2007 Grey Cup Champions. Good Luck this year Riders!!!

Geocaching
I see every body changing their status' on facebook to things like "going geo-caching" and "just went geo-caching". And I felt really out of the loop. Having NO Idea what this whole "geo-caching" thing was all about, I decided to use the friendly tool : GOOGLE.
So I found a site that explained to me that this was a ...game I guess you would call it, that people search for items with their GPS units. Am I the only one that had NO clue what this was???
Anyways, I went to the FAQ section to read more about it. And thought this was just hilarious:
So if I have a GPS unit, someone can track where I am (and where I'm going)?
No! GPS devices do not actually broadcast your location. The satellites using radio frequencies actually broadcast their own position. Your GPS unit takes that information to figure out where you are (triangulation).
Unless you have a tracking system implanted by aliens, you should be safe from the satellites above. As an extra precaution, however, you can put aluminum foil on your head to deflect the "gamma" beams
I learnt something today, and it put a smile on my face!

Relay for Life
I had a team organized for the Relay for Life event held in Oxbow this year. Even though we had to hurdle some obstacles to get there, our team had a great time!
I did not get the chance to take a pic of our whole team with my camera, but if I get my hands on a copy, I will post it.
The night was very tiresome, as we only had 7 people walking for the night. Our breaks weren't very long, and we were all walking like we were crippled come the morning. I still have limp in my walk..haha but every part of it was worth it.
My thoughts on the event were...we were so tired, and our legs were starting to hurt...but we only had to deal with those sacrifices for one evening. People that live with cancer, live with that cancer 24 hours a day, and what we were doing , was trying to help so that people don't have to live with that!!
I want to thank each and every one of you who pledged me, or anyone. Your contributions did not go unnoticed!
This was some luminaries on the hill spelling "H-O-P-E". It was very beautiful and heart warming to see that lit up on the hill!

Cleopatra!!
This is my little monkey when she wakes up in the morning!!!! Crazy , crazy hair!!!
I am still not sure how to work the settings on my camera (the coming up photography class will help with that though), so please be patient with my "not-so-good" pics, they will improve!!!
This is a shot of Paige AFTER getting her hair done, still some crazy curls at the front, but much more controlled.
Dominic's stance, he's oh so strong!!!
