New Decisions..

Just thought I'd let you know, that due to personal reasons..I have gave my notice to my current employer..and come Christmas will be at home with my kiddo's again.

So yes, you can welcome me back to the blogging world!

Accomplishing..a little late

Tonight I was busy trying to finish my Christmas cards, that I vowed would be mailed out by now...

Now..I sit with a glass of wine looking at our beautiful Christmas tree..saying maybe tomorrow..

This is our first year, as a family, having a REAL Christmas tree!! The kids and I picked it out ourselves and we just love it!


I definetly think we will be shopping for a real tree from now on..or at least for awhile!! We had so much fun shopping for it too..well minus the fact it was BITTER cold Saskatchewan weather!!!

I love seeind windmills. Something about them in a field..is just beautiful!! And this field definetly had a few!!

I enjoyed a couple nights away with a couple great friends!! We headed down to Bismarck and took advantage of some of their amazing Thanksgiving sales! Here's a little idea of how the weekend went:

It was a crammed trip home..but well worth it!! We had some good hot tubbin' , some great eats, and some fabulous shopping!! I can't wait to do it again!

Sorry no costume pics...But here's our pumpkin carving!! We had so much fun doing it. We carved out Captain Hook And Tinker Bell..My advise...have lots of time on your hands , b/c it takes awhile!!

A Sneak Peek

First Snowfall!

Our kids enjoyed the first snowfall of the year (YES in their TANKTOPS/sleeveless shirts) with their GREAT Aunt Marie. She taught them how to catch snowflakes on their tongues. It was pretty much the cutest thing I've seen!

Brining a Turkey

Brining is the Cat's BUTT!!!

If you haven't done it, you really need to try it. We brined out turkey for Thanksgiving. You can also brine seafood , chicken, so many things!!!

Hubby? Where???

Right now, the kids and I are in run of the house. Jared is off in Alberta picking up a rig (that isn't his, but what does that matter), well if you're US it does...b/c in two weeks he has to turn around and go BACK to Alberta to get HIS rig!!! OY
Our week has been uneventful...Weather has really started getting cold and we are preparing for Winter's arrival...I suspect that this year will be much colder than the past few.
Hockey season is around the corner, Fall photo op's are quickly dispersing, especially with Jared being away. Snow is forecasted for tomorrow!! Arggh did we even get a summer?

I hope you will all stay tuned, as my mom ROCKS and kept some funny elemtary journals..And I intend to blog some of them in the future!

She can handle anything and everything she is handed to her, God proved that by her airplane crash.

Salsa??

We have been CRAZY busy making salsa this month.

We lucked out and got TONS of Jars off of Swap-Shop, and that started the process. I believe we have made 60 jars of salsa!! and we still have so many more tomatoes!!

Life has been a little crazy around here lately!!!

With me working fulltime, it speeds life up and there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day!!

Cara's Wedding.

WOW It has been almost a month since I have blogged!!! In my defense, I have not been home a single weekend since then (well ok ONE , but that whole weekend I was busy making SALSA!!!)

Cara's wedding to Justin, was one of the reasons I was away. It was such a blast. We got to visit with Allisha and Rob, whom we haven't seen FOREVER (besides the odd run in at football games). I seen another friend, but she ignored me...I'm still at awe over that one..But let's not dwell on the negative..

The kid's had an ABSOLUTE blast!!! There was a candy BAR!! the favors were KINDER surprise's, AND every kid won a prize. It was a wedding meant for kids!! Paige won a fluffy teddy as pic'd below!!

I'm Back!!

I told you I would be neglecting the ol' blog ...It's been a crazy summer. And I started work a week and a half ago, so things have gotten even crazier.

The plus side of waiting, is you get a whole wack of pictures in one hit!!!

The kids enjoyed a whole week at their Gramma Maffenbeier's, while Jared worked and I went with my sister's camping in Alberta! It was a blast, and a bunch of those pictures are on here for you to see!!

For those that don't know, my cell phone has been out of commission. Jared dropped it in the lake awhile back..LOL...and it slowly calved on me..and no it just does me no good at all!! I am hoping to have a new one this week or the next!

Dominic is starting Kindergarten in 2 weeks, and Paige will be starting Playschool this year. Yea..my babies are growing up. I had my very first school shopping trip in Minot. My first of about 15 years of them!! HAHA (that is if we don't have any more kids--and Yes I would love to have another, Jared on the other hand isn't as sure about it as me!)

Jared has been working more than usual, but still not as much as we are used to. It's been a hard 6 months but it's also been nice to have him home more. The kids have grown extra close to him, and Paige has actually transformed from a Mommy's girl to a Daddy's Girl (I know I can't believe it either!)

I have to share an absolutely cute story about our babysitter this week. She is off to hairschool next week, so this is the only week we've had her. The kids LOVE her to death. And yesterday, upon my arrival home, Dominic asks her if she can please stay for a sleep over, he doesn't want her to go. She says she can't , so he says "well can I have a sleepover at your place?" HAHA , and THEN, when her and I both insist she is not staying, and he is not going..She leaves and He BAWLS and runs to his room in a fit of tears.

I received my CS4 and have been busy learning all about it. When I received the program (for thos that don't know it's a professional photo editing program), I got a 30 day trial to lynda.com. It not only has tutorials for CS4, but all KINDS of programs. I have learnt so much more than I ever knew!! I suggest checking it out!!

Me working, has not slowed our lives down a bit. I have weekends off, but not really...
This weekend...we are headed to Regina to have a farewell party for my SIS that is heading off to Quebec for Canada Borders Training for 10 weeks.
Next weekend..we are headed to Regina to share a special day with our friend's Cara & Justin as they get married..also My brother graduates from RCMP and we have a farewell party for him before he heads off to Fort Mac.
AUg 29th weekend...I plan to take the kids on a camping trip close to home...as it is our only open weekend, and they haven't got to go on a camping trip yet!
Sept 4th weekend (Labor Day weekend) we plan to camp out at our friend's Barret & Kandi's in Wolsely, PLUS watch the Labor Day Game in Regina
Sept 12th weekend, I am headed to Winnipeg to watch the Banjo Bowl (Bombers VS Riders)...

I am bound and determined to make my plate a little less full so we can enjoy more family time at home.
oh And Sept 1st marks the date our Satellite returns!! YAY !! Oh how I've missed thee!
