Combine's in the Distance

Everyone's out in the field this week, trying to finish up harvest.

Harvest

Paige and I, went out to the field this afternoon to visit Grampa. I love going out there at this time of year. Well, really, any time of year. But the colors are just so remarkable, the browns, the blues of the sky, the greens. It's just plain beautiful!

Work of Art!!!

My kids have not only gotten used to being subjects in my photo's, but they also want to be behind the camera. Paige shot this photo in the car.

Loving this cutie pie!

Paige and I are alone for the next few days. The boys have went away hunting and fishing. We enjoyed a visit out to the field to see Grampa at work

Beautiful Farming

I find farm machinery so beautiful, sitting out in the field..so majestic!

Class Time!

"courtesy of big picture scrapbooking"

I am really excited to be enrolled in this class, starting Friday!

Sneak Peek

I headed out {with co-pilot Paige} to do a photoshoot with these charming young siblings! I had a lot of fun with them, and can't wait to get through the rest of the photo's!

Girls Weekend

The boys headed up north for a hunting and fishing trip. Paige and I are hanging out at home for the weekend, and looking forward to spending some time together!

She accompanied me while I did a photoshoot this afternoon. She was so awesome! And we were early so had fun snapping some photo's of her!

FINALLY!

It happened!! Some of my tomatoes ripened!! YIPEE!! I was so pleased to finally be able to do ONE batch of salsa! Last year I was done ALL of my tomatoes and salsa by this time of year. This year we are just getting started. Goes to show how things can change so much from year to year!

Cake anyone?

This morning I had fun making a diaper cake as a baby gift for Brad, Leanna and the newest addition to their family.
I have heard of people making these, but had never done one myself. It turned out really well!

How do YOU do it??

I am very particular about how my towels are folded, not to mention the way they are put in the laundry cupboard!
They must be folded in thirds, and then when they are put away the nice folded part must be facing out.
Do you have any "must-be's" when your laundry is folded? Underwear, Towels, Jeans, do you have any obsessions that just "must-be"

Sniff anyone?

You know it's time to re-paint your walls when you look over, and the {camel statue} shadow is sniffing the paint chips on your wall!
I guess it's time to think of how we {or more-so I} want to change the colors!

Introducing....

Dominic, the 6 year old photographer! He didn't really want to participate with photo's, but we was more than willing to be the one who took the photo's. These are his work.

Kids

With it being so nice, I dragged the kids out to snap a few of them. Paige was much more willing, she loves getting her picture taken {by me anyways}
I am looking forward to heading up north for thanksgiving to have new landscapes to use! So fun!

Beauty in Photos

Fall is all around us, and it is so beautiful. Today is a beautiful day, and it was nice to be able to get out and snap photo's while the weather is cooperating!

Chant!

I don't think many of you need to be told, how big of a Sask's Rider fan I am. I am a proud season ticket holder for 4 yrs now. I love to support our Rider's. Being a part of the crowd and fans is so exhilerating! Cheering Rider Chants, Doing the Wave {that occasionally goes around the whole Stadium numerous times, high fiving everyone around you, drinking ridiculously expensive beverages..It's all a part of it, and nothing compares!

One thing that has bugged me for awhile now, is watching games that happen in Montreal. Their fans always chant something that I can never understand (probably b/c it's in french but nonetheless). Sooo..I decided enough was enough it was time to google that dang Montreal chant, so for all of you that feel the same way as me, here is their chant:

Oskee wee wee, Oskee wa wa,
Holy Mackinaw,
Tigers, Eat 'em Raw!

My opinion??!! Not near as clever as :

Green is the colour,
Football is the game,
We're all together,
And winning is our aim.
So cheer us on
Through the sun and rain.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
Is our name!

Just my opinion!!

Busted!!

I always get after Jared for inviting the dog's to hop up on the bed. Then I went and did it, and got caught! OOPS!! But look at those eye's how can you not want to snuggle such a cute thing! Minus the dog hair, and having to wash all your bedding afterwards..but we won't talk about that.

Fried Green Tomatoe's?

We have a bed waiting for us in Estevan, to put in our spare room. But it's been put off b/c of the above!!

We are {not so} patiently waiting for 99% of our tomatoe's to ripen. Last year they were ready so early and we were already done all of our batches of salsa, and tomatoes. This year is a very different year and we are hoping some will ripe so we can get at least a couple batches done for the winter!

Hockey Season

Another hockey season is approaching, and Dominic could not be more excited!

This is a photo from last year. He will again be on the 6 and under team, but it's a whole new team this year. From what we can tell he and , his little friend, Ace are to be the only 6 yr old's on the team. They are the big kids this year, and get to teach the younger one's what they (as 6 yr olds) already know!

I look forward to another year of being a hockey mom!! (Let's just home it doens't involve hitting a deer on the way to a game--like it did last year-- as my car still hasn't forgave that deer or SGI)

Word Verification

A blog I used to visit regularly (that is no longer going), used to have posts about Word Verification. I like to share great ideas other people have, so I am sharing this one!

Add a comment, you will be asked to verify a word. Type your definition of the word given to you. Every person is given a different word, so it's a fun little game to see what everyone says. Be sure to type the word, in your comment, that you are defining.

With a lack of posting, this gives me a day (at least) to catch back up! I am hoping with the nice weather this weekend, we are able to get our fall photo's done (finger's crossed Jared will be home in time!)

Moose Sighting

On our way home from the farm, Dominic spotted 4 moose! I was thrilled that for once, I was prepared and had my camera ready to snap photo's of these, often hidden, creatures.

Banjo Bowl..

This was my 2nd year attending Banjo Bowl, and although we had an utterly TERRIBLE game, it was fun and Bomber fans were a lot of fun!

We made our own Banjo's to take. A lot of credit to Gramma, Dad, Amber with all their hardwork helping make these so awesome!! I think it should be noted that we started with 7 banjo's and ended with 4! But they were a hit and many a bomber fan stopped to get a photo of us playing them!

We also made some awesome signs, that took a lot of time and effort (especially for the amount we used them in the game--with Riders only getting 2 pts)

Not great photo's but they give you an idea..(These were our Uncle's idea and we were so thrilled to use the idea!

"I don't know but I've been told, the worst in the league is blue & gold:

"Now I've seen them play"

"so I know it's right, the best in the league is green and white"

Stony Water

Going are road trips are a fun oppurtunity to get photo's from different area's. We stopped for a stretch in Manitoba, and it was definetly a photo op!

Souris Bridge

With stopping in Souris, of course we checked out the Swinging Bridge. I am afraid of heights, and shaking swaying bridge's over active water don't help...BUT I did it, well part way anyways!

Fall is upon us!

On our road trip up to Winnipeg for Banjo Bowl, we stopped at Souris. Fall's colors are starting to show, and it's beautiful!!

Paigey-time

Paige is thoroughly enjoying the one on one time she gets with Mom when Dom is gone to school. We've been busy checking on our garden at the farm most days, so she has been kept busy, and never complains with playing at Gramma Mary's with all her toys!

Swim Fun

We enjoyed a night down in Minot with the Trafford's after picking Grampa Hawker (my dad) up from the airport. Dominic put a full 8 hour shift of swimming in! Paige was close behind. They definetly had a blast!

Gas Junky

I've seen numerous people stopping to take photo's of this old gas pump. This time, I thought I'd stop. It'd be a nice photo to put up on the wall! I am hoping to get a photo of it this fall, with all the beautiful colors

A Card a Day

On a recent trip down to minot, I picked up this book:

I am hoping for it to get me back into my craftiness!! But it's going to have to wait until October 1st, as our tomatoes are going to be ready to come off and I've got salsa to jar!!

Rear...

Have you ever been rear-ended?
No? Me either! That is, until we were leaving our campsite at Echo Lake. Those dang Albertans (kidding, of course!!). Thankfully, I have no photo's to post, as no damage was done. It was probably the best accident I've been in, ok so it's the only accident, involving another vehicle, that I've ever been in.
Not sure about you, but I worry about what type of "mood" the other driver will be in. Whether they are at fault, or you are at fault. This world is full of crazy people, and you just never know! Thankfully, it was a good experience, and the other driver felt terrible, and I made sure they knew it was no big deal. My kids, on the other hand, having been in a serious car accident..were quite shooken up by it. It took awhile for me to convince them that it was just an accident, that they were OK, and so was the car!

B/c the car wasn't damaged I took no photo's , but here are a couple from our "sibling" camping trip.

We, as siblings, go camping together every year. As we grow older, and take jobs involving shift work..It's become hard to get us all together. Last year, Lance missed out. This year, Amber missed out. One of the tradition's at our camping trip, is to take "scary photo's" we like having fun with those!
