Excuse Me???

What a great time my dad and I had at the concert. It was such a blast, and I fell in love with Alan all over again, not to mention Brooks & Dunn. I am also a new fan of Jessie Farell. She opened for them, and is just plain amazing. AND she is Canadian, from Vancouver BC. So how cool is that?? I told my hubby to pick me up her cd if he could find it today in Estevan, but we'll see.

We walked out of the concert to a shocking 4 inches of SNOW!!!!! ummm WHAT?? hello??? excuse me??? What is going ON???? So needless to say we had to drive 50 km/hr until about Dundurn where it just suddenly STOPPED, like completely, not a drop of snow in the ditch or anything. So we got back to our hotel in Regina at 4 am. (the concert let out at 11). It was insane, and we were exhausted b/c then we had to get up at 9 in order to meet Jared in Stoughton so that I could go on the quad rally with him in Arcola. Which ended up being a 5 hour quad ride!!! It was an eventful ride, I was more than exhausted by the end of it.

All the mean while the kids were gone to my mom's. Where they had SUCH a blast.

Sunday, Jared and I went out for lunch at the chinamen's and then headed over to Phil and Tanya's for a visit. They just got back from a week in Disneyworld, and had a surprise waiting for them when they got home that they're WHOLE house had been renovated. They were so excited and everything looked so amazing.

After that, Jared went one way and I went another. He went and met my parents in Carlyle to pick the kids up, and I went to Denise's shower. It was so much fun, and I couldn't get over how many little baby's where there!! When I got back home the kids were SSOOO excited to see me, climbing all over me and saying I missed you so much mommy. It just fills my heart with happiness, knowing that nothing else matters b/c these two sweathearts mean the world to me, and I mean the world to them!!

This weekend we are off to Dauphin. I am excited for that, but also realy wishing I could catch up in my house. I am doing something ALL the time, and am so ready to just collapse. Going to work is getting harder and harder ..but it's still good!!

Stay tuned, I promise to have some sort of pics up by next week!

Concert time!!

I am uberly excited for tomorrow. My dad and I are Saskatoon bound for the Alan Jackson/Brooks & Dunn Concert. Not as excited for the 5 1/2 hr drive to Saskatoon..but that's a price I am willing to pay!!

The kids bedroom...hmm ya...right...Let's just use the nice weather as an excuse to why it hasn't been TOUCHED in over a week. I really think a better excuse is that we are just plain lazy, and that Jared is back to work and not getting home until 9 at night. On a side note, we got a call yesterday saying our beds for the room have arrived, so that's some motivation to get finished!! B/c we can't put the beds in the room until the flooring is in, and we can't put the flooring in until the room is painted, and we can't paint until we finish sanding. Thus said I am going to go HARD tonight and Sand my little heart away!! When I do put pics up I would LOVE to take credit for the oh so creative paint job..but all the credit should go to Benjamin Moore Paint and their oh so lovely flyers that give WONDERFUL ideas!!

My Aunt Debbie (my dad's sister) was down this past week to visit my gramma, so we went out to the farm Saturday, and then again on Tuesday for supper. Well FUNNY little story, what's a blog without a funny story here and there??

First some hindsight into the story. About a year ago, if not longer Dominic was out at my Gramma's farm and she took him down the lane to this antique tractor they have parked at the end. So he sat on it and Gramma was telling him, and this is the toolbox where farmers put their tools, and lifted up the lid...to a BIG FAT MOUSE!!! She slammed the lid down, and Dominic looked up at her and Said "mama, do you have a gun?" and she said "oh ya i have some, but I don't know how to use them" his reply "don't worry mama, my Dad has a gun , he'll come shoot that mouse!!!"

So anyways, now a year later we go out there and he STILL remembers!! So he first took my dad down to the tractor, "come on papa, let's shoot that mouse". I mean a year later , the mouse isn't going to be still there....or is it??!! haha. They get there, and my dad stirs around in the little toolbox and sure enough finds a little baby mouse. so they "sticked it with a stick". Well that wasn't enough, he then had to take Mama out and show her the dead baby mouse..and they found MORE!!! 3 more baby ones, and the mommy mouse!! So they "sticked" those baby mice too..AND THEN!! brought them in the house.. SICK!! haha but it gets worse. Then Dominic thinks we need to bring them home to show dad, so he gets an empty container from my gramma and they dump these DEAD BABY MICE into this container..well THEN he puts the lid on it, and shakes them!!! I don't know what was worse, that he was so excited for killing mice, or that after they were already dead he wanted to shake them!!!

He tried to convince me to bring them home, uhhh no thanks!

so my kiddos are going to my mom's for the night Friday, and then I was going to pick them up on my way through ..now I am only picking up Paige b/c Dominic is lucky and gets to stay an EXTRA night at gramma's house so that he can go to the "Exotic Bird Sale" they have there. (pretty much it's auctionning off all sorts of little animals and birds). I wanted to stay for it, but Denise's bridal shower is Sunday so Dom just gets to have an extra day with mama and papa.

Saturday it sounds like we are heading up to Carlyle for a quad rally..well I will be just going straight there and my dad will be bringing my munchkin Paige back home for moi. I've never been in a quad rally so I am not quite sure what it entails, but it should be a good ol' muddy time (if we can find mud in this DRY country!)

Last weekend, b/c it was so nice out we got to work on our yard..cleaned up all the dog do-do and everything she had torn up over the winter PLUS put up our new garage door. It looks so so much better now, and will hopefully up our resale value of our house!!

I really want to get started on my landscaping for my yard, but I have ZERO time, I am always running around doing something!! This weekend is pretty much a write off, next weekend we're gone to Dauphin, and the weekend after is Domo's Pirate Birthday party!!

I am also excited, we're going to have a few people over for a BBQ on Sunday!! I love the nice weather, b/c our Kitchen is SO SO small it's almost impossible to host any suppers with friends. So now we can just BBQ outside and have lots of room!! And right now is PERFECT, for me anyways. B/c anyone that knows me, knows that I am deathly afraid of wasps/bees/hornets/horseflies...and that is the one thing I do not like about summer. So much so, that I am cutting our apple tree down this year b/c the bees and wasps FLOCK to it, and make our backyard a DANGER ZONE, as far as I am concerned anyways.

Paige has started talking quite a bit. I think her favorite word is NO. or MOM MOM MOM. haha. She is quite the little daredevil, hardly has a fear in the world. Always just jumping off things, not the least bit concerned with how much of a fall it is!

I watched Juno last night with Malroy and J'rod. It was SO cute. Jared went through Estevan on Tues (the day it was released) but wouldn't buy it for me :(, siad that I could get it in S'toon when I went there!! :( ..so Mallory went to Doan's last night and it was there , so we rented it!! And now I am even more convinced that I will buy it!

My really good friend Heidi, is moving closer! I am very excited about this. Currently her and her fiancee live in Regina, and they just bought a house in Stoughton and take possession I believe the beginning of June. It's still a drive to go see her, but 1/2 the drive that Regina was!!! I can't wait Heidi!!!

Well I am going to go plan the meal for our BBQ Sunday so I can pick groceries up!! Have a great weekend everyone, and if I by chance can sneak my camera in I will upload pics of the concert!!

Might as well Smile!!!

Last week we started reno'ing the kids room!! It had tacky carpet, stucko on the roof that was designed all crazy, and no closet. We have ripped the room APART! It now has a closet, new sheet rock on the roof, and new flooring to be put in. We are just in the process of mudding and sanding. Hopefully only a couple more days of that. It is much harder when both Jared and I are working, to do these renovations!! I have some really cool paint that we picked up on the weekend. And their new beds should be arriving next week. I promise to put up pics of the before and during and after on my blog when the room is finished!!

This past weekend we had the Amosah benefit to attend. I , as part of oilwives, helped serve the supper. It was so nice to see SO many people there, really it was just unbelievable!! Jared and I, came back for the auction and dance, where we got Alan Jackson/Brooks & Dunn tickets. The concert is next Friday, so I am going to try and put in some overtime so as to take the day off to go!! The dance was a riot, and we had fun dancing the night away.

In other exciting news, in a previous blog I stated that I had ordered something but didn't want to say what it was until I got it.. well it came !!! NINTENDO WII!! and it is OH so much fun. We've been busy playing DDR (dance dance revolution--such a great work out) and guitar hero.

This coming up weekend I am having my wax and whips party. Our house is one big ball of dust right now from the reno's so I have a lot of cleaning up to do before the party!!

My dad also comes back from overseas this weekend!! So I am hoping (if I get my house cleaned) that I can go down to get him and pick up some closet doors and bedding for the kiddos!!

The 18th weekend, is the concert in Saskatoon, so that will be an exhausting weekend (driving 6 hours)..to tell you the truth, I think this concert is going to be a lot of work to get to!!

The weekend after that we are off to Dauphin on the Friday. There is a big Fish Enhancement supper there (which is kind of like Oxbow's Lobsterfest). The kids are looking forward to it, they love the farm so much. And now that it's nice out they'll be out playing in mud I am sure!! Note to self: pack extra clothes for muddy incidents!!

My relay for life team is going to have a HUGE yard sale/kid games/baking sale to raise money for our team to donate to the Cancer society. A date has not yet been set, but I am working on that today and will hopefully have a day and time for everyone by tomorrow. Lots of stuff will be sold, and all proceeds are going to the cancer society, so it's a great time to stock up on some used items!!

Work is still going good! I have became pretty comfortable with most of everything I am doing. There is talk of a position here after, I am still kind of skeptical on it though. By the time I pay my sitter and drive to Carnduff and back every day I don't make much money. and I really miss my kiddo's. On the other hand, it's been a great job thus far, the people are great to work for and it's great work experience. I have some thinking to do anyways.
