Cheater...

Quick update on the family. Dominic is still enjoying Pre-K and Skating. And progressing very well at skating, I am so proud of him.
Paige is talking more and more every day..and is finally starting to say Dominic...more like "OMIC" but she's trying, and sounds much more like Dominic than Dutty did!
Jared is still working out in Assiniboia and should be back this week some time.
I am lonely , but coping well with being home for almost a month with no hubby.

Other than that...we have been a busy bunch this past while..running here and there. And it's really not going to calm down much until Christmas is over. But that's ok, I at least have a couple days at home. We have our Christmas tree up, and I've been trying to wrap presents...so we are accomplishing some things.. so that's always a good thing!

Now...to start my December posts so that I do not fall behind on them!

NINETEEN???

My baby sister is NINETEEN!!! WHHHAATTT??? I am getting old. It is now official. AND I can't con her into babysitting if we wanna go out on the town, b/c now she can too!! SHUCKS!! HA HA!

I couldn't ask for a better baby sister. She rocks. She has the best personality, and I can't wait to take her out for her bday on Friday night!!

More annoyances.

Ya that was OVER a month ago, and I am still waiting on a new windshield. I am beginning to think it's the company that I went to, that is jerking me around. B/c according to Volkswagen there shouldn't be any delay in getting a windshield. And I mean, come on...it is starting to get cold out. I have ,pretty much, a hole in my windshield. If one more rock hits , it's probably going to smash in.

I am going to make THOSE phone calls too, so hopefully I get somewhere with it!!

Just because....

Just b/c Amber has this as her home page, I am quickly updating... Today is the last day of November...and I think I am going to struggle with my 30 posts. I was such a slacker this month.

But I am definetly going to try.

Right now I am exhausted and going to lie down for a bit.

Stagette continued....

We played some "different" games at the shower, and they were SOOO fun!! Heidi's shower was definetly a one of a kind.

We played "carve a penis out of a cucumber---using only your teeth" and also had a pinata ,that Amanda (bridesmaid) made her self, shaped as nothing else but a penis!! And , I have no pictures of it at the moment, but we also had a condom balloon contest. Everyone had to blow their condom up as big as they could with out popping it, it was rather interesting to see how big some got! ha ha.

Then, later at the bar, they TAUGHT Heidi how to dance on the pole. She totally worked it!!

Heidi's Stagette

As Heidi's maid of honour (or I guess "matron"), me and the other 2 bridesmaids got to put on a Moulin Rouge shower and stagette. It was SOOO much fun, and turned out totally great. We held it at Cara's house, and she did all the decorations, don't they look great? Then we took the LIMO to the bar, well they did. A couple of Cara's friends came, so me and Michelle had to drive as the limo would only take 10.

I am so happy with how everything went. I was totally a basket case, especially from the BUSY BUSY week I had last week. It turned out perfect!

Frustration

I am really choked right now...And I will be making phone calls tomorrow.

My main computer crashed. Who knows what kind of virus it has on it, but it won't open...won't start at all.. Just freezes. I am going to have to take it somewhere and try and get them to save my pic's. I never backed up my pics on anything...so take my advice BACK UP your pics. This is probably one reason why digital photography SUCKS!


So b/c of this I have to add something to my xmas list. A hard drive stick or whatever the hell they are called...something that I can back up my pics on. Can't even put a picture of one on...b/c I have no idea what they look like or anything.

Assiniboia

This is where Jared has been staying while working out in the Assiniboia area..

The Bar-B Inn. I love the name. The kids and I got to go out and see him again on Friday night. He was supposed to be coming home tonight, but now it won't be until Wednesday or Thursday. I hope so, we are really missing him.

:( I really miss this man. This pic is from awhile ago. Oh well, he's like me...I don't have many pics of him. I need to start using my timer more and getting in on some pics.

I love him soo soo much. And him not being here is really tough. Hopefully he SHOULD be home by Thursday, cross your fingers for me, ok???

Wrap it up!!

I bought new wrapping paper this year...even though, truth be told, we really didn't need it. But it was such a big roll, and I loved the color of it AND it was reasonably priced (at Costco), so WHY NOT?? right??

Well when I opened it to start wrapping presents, I came to the delightful surprise that it is DOUBLE sided!!! YAY !!! I know, small things amuse small minds. But come on now, how cool is that??? it's cool.

Christmas Decorating.

So I cheated a bit...and started my Christmas decorating before my house was completely clean. For the most part I have organized quite a bit, and I really wanted to get decorating. I love Christmas.

I can officially say that I have started my Christmas cards...Now have I made any more than what is in these photos????....not so much. And do I have the pics printed out for them?? nope. Do I have envelopes for them....nope.. Do I have the newsletter printed...nope. I still have a lot of work to do...

Flying High!!

After being in Minot for the weekend, the kids and I had to turn around and head back down to pick my dad up from the airport...this is the kids waiting for the plane to arrive:

Sleeping Beauties

They are so cute when they sleep, and so quiet. As a mother I have really came to enjoy quiet.

Swimming in Minot

We headed down to Minot for a weekend get away. We got to stay at the Sleep Inn, and the kids were in their glory!! They had such a blast.

If anyone has kids you know that, even though it is nice to go away for a weekend. The weekend away can play you out!! And it sure did!

So..for my photography course, I had to take a picture that illustrated "motion" using some of the techniques I have learnt. This is the first picture I tried. Notice how everything is in focus EXCEPT for the kids (b/c they are moving --playing ring around the rosie).
I have a really great idea, just haven't had the oppurtunity to use it yet. When I do I will upload it. If it works it will be the picture I send in for my assignment.

I just meant to clean behind my couch, but upon pulling it out I was so disgusted I decided to not only clean under it...but to totally rearrange my living room. Little did I know, I'd be rich from doing it!!!

So tonight I was watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Anyone that has watched it, knows what a tear jerker it can be.

The Mom of the family started talking about her illness and saying it was awful when they didn't think she would live, but at least she got to say good bye to her kids; She got to tell her kids all the things she wouldn't normally be able to do. How many parents (that die before their kids) get to tell their kids these things. She lived through it, but still....

I don't know why but this struck a note with me. And I thought, if I were to die in a car accident or some sudden accident I would not get that chance. And I started to cry....

The kids were still up and Dominic(sitting on the other side of the couch) came running over to me...

Domo:Mommy What's wrong, don't cry!!
Me: It's ok hun, the show just made me cry
Domo: is it b/c Daddy never gave you his phone number???

HAHAHA what a sweetie, how can THAT not make me smile!!!

I hate Winter

I really really do!!!

I was going to leave for Assiniboia yesterday, but I looked at the forecast and Thursday was supposed to be gross out; snowy and rainy. So I made the wise decision to wait until Friday to go...

Now of course I wake up to a cold, blustery day. It is snowing outside, grrr. It is not snowing a lot, so I will still venture out..but it's just annoying.

I despise winter driving, I don't think there is anything that I dislike more. The white knuckled, heart pounding, mind racing winter driving. I hate having to plan trips around the weather. Having to drive super slow b/c of road conditions, having to put up with other drivers that came straight from California (or so one would think with the way they drive in the winter).

Winter means Christmas, and I like Christmas. And winter brings a whole new appreciation for spring and summer. So I should not complain too much.

Stinky

I could have swore that the ABOVE is what was in my room last night with me, but oh no it was just my lovely dog and her GAS. Even Jared's don't stink that bad. It was brutal!!!

Dom the Skater.

This year is Dom's first ever time on skates. He LOVES it!!! And is getting better at every lesson!!! We are so proud of you bud!!!

The kids wanted to color today, which they don't usually do. They'd rather "play" then color. I gave them the container of crayons and let them go hard. This is how Paige decides what crayon to use:

She has always been a big help, but look at how GOOD she is doing at folding the clothes??? It used to be that she would just roll them up and call it good.

Assiniboia

Last Thursday Jared left for work in Bengough and staying nights in Assiniboia.



It's aggravating that he has to be gone so far from home. It definetly has been odd with him gone. His job requires him to work long days (leaving by 5 and not returning until 10) but he is always home at night, so we have definetly been adjusting. I find the nights the hardest, not having his snoring body next to mine. The kids haven't really noticed a big change b/c they rarely get to see him, with the long hours he works, as it is.

Jared did however, have yesterday and today off so he got to come home for the 2 days. It was definetly nice to have him home. And truth be told the old saying "distance makes the heart grow fonder" (may not be exact quote) definetly felt true. We were appreciating each other, and not getting mad over such miniscule things.

Anyways, I should try and accomplish something with my day.

Playoff Game

Well the Riders had a HOME playoff game, which is great for the team (win or lose). But we did unfortunately lose, so now we are out for the rest of the 2008 season. We still had a blast.
