Might as well Smile!!!

Last week we started reno'ing the kids room!! It had tacky carpet, stucko on the roof that was designed all crazy, and no closet. We have ripped the room APART! It now has a closet, new sheet rock on the roof, and new flooring to be put in. We are just in the process of mudding and sanding. Hopefully only a couple more days of that. It is much harder when both Jared and I are working, to do these renovations!! I have some really cool paint that we picked up on the weekend. And their new beds should be arriving next week. I promise to put up pics of the before and during and after on my blog when the room is finished!!

This past weekend we had the Amosah benefit to attend. I , as part of oilwives, helped serve the supper. It was so nice to see SO many people there, really it was just unbelievable!! Jared and I, came back for the auction and dance, where we got Alan Jackson/Brooks & Dunn tickets. The concert is next Friday, so I am going to try and put in some overtime so as to take the day off to go!! The dance was a riot, and we had fun dancing the night away.

In other exciting news, in a previous blog I stated that I had ordered something but didn't want to say what it was until I got it.. well it came !!! NINTENDO WII!! and it is OH so much fun. We've been busy playing DDR (dance dance revolution--such a great work out) and guitar hero.

This coming up weekend I am having my wax and whips party. Our house is one big ball of dust right now from the reno's so I have a lot of cleaning up to do before the party!!

My dad also comes back from overseas this weekend!! So I am hoping (if I get my house cleaned) that I can go down to get him and pick up some closet doors and bedding for the kiddos!!

The 18th weekend, is the concert in Saskatoon, so that will be an exhausting weekend (driving 6 hours)..to tell you the truth, I think this concert is going to be a lot of work to get to!!

The weekend after that we are off to Dauphin on the Friday. There is a big Fish Enhancement supper there (which is kind of like Oxbow's Lobsterfest). The kids are looking forward to it, they love the farm so much. And now that it's nice out they'll be out playing in mud I am sure!! Note to self: pack extra clothes for muddy incidents!!

My relay for life team is going to have a HUGE yard sale/kid games/baking sale to raise money for our team to donate to the Cancer society. A date has not yet been set, but I am working on that today and will hopefully have a day and time for everyone by tomorrow. Lots of stuff will be sold, and all proceeds are going to the cancer society, so it's a great time to stock up on some used items!!

Work is still going good! I have became pretty comfortable with most of everything I am doing. There is talk of a position here after, I am still kind of skeptical on it though. By the time I pay my sitter and drive to Carnduff and back every day I don't make much money. and I really miss my kiddo's. On the other hand, it's been a great job thus far, the people are great to work for and it's great work experience. I have some thinking to do anyways.

For nothing seems as it is..

Why do I always find myself saying "another month has passed". It really seems like since I started working, the clock on the wall has been going at double speed, I wish I could just slow it down a tad!

With the end of March nearing, summer plans are getting closer and I am realizing just how busy we are!! I always say, oh next weekend or next month will be calmer...but somehow that never seems to be the case, and I realize that sounds SO cliche..

What have we been up to this past month? We had a nice visit from Jared's parents the weekend before Easter, it isn't very often Jared's dad gets down here so it was a nice treat to be able to have them in our house.
For Easter, Jared ended up getting the weekend off. So we headed up to Indian Head Friday. Saturday we went into Regina and got to the hospital to see Terell as well as Phil and Tanya, Cadence and Deon. And Aaron and Lanette ended up coming in to, so we got to have a visit with all of them. It was very nice to be able to go up there and support them.
We pretty much played Wii the whole weekend at my mom's and thus I had some pretty sore fingers from playing Guitar Hero. I definetly got addicted, and truth be told I think Jared did too!
Last night I ordered new beds for the kids, this month's project is their room. They are getting a new closet put in there, and with these new beds and new blinds it will give the room a totally different feel! I am hoping it helps keep it more organized!!
April is a busy birthday month, Jared turning a quarter century and Dom turning the big 4. I have not decided when Dom's party will be, as we are heading to Dauphin the last weekend of April. But Dom has made it clear he wants a pirate themed party..so I am trying to start planning for that, so as to have some creative ideas!
The Benefit for the Amosah's is coming up NEXT weekend already!!! I can't believe that it's came so fast, it will be so nice to see all the support for the family!!
My big wax and whips party is the 12th (that's a Saturday). It is going to be such a riot, I am so looking forward to it.
Paige and Dom are doing so well. They went over to Sarah F's a couple days this week while I worked and just loved it. I guess Mya (sarah's daughter) and Dom got married. Mya was the princess, Dom was the prince...and Paige was the queen. haha, I love the imaginations of little ones!! Paige has such a little attitude, and I am sure she learnt it from her brother. She crosses her arms and says HMMPPHHF. Haha my little drama queen!
My dad comes back this month , not sure when ..at least he's supposed to come back this month. Funny little story about him. Everyone knows how Glen Ewen bar burnt down, and how Jack McKnight was accused of doing it but he fled the country. Not sure if I told anyone that he was working for the same company as my dad but he is. Anyways..my dad used to date Karolyn (the owner of G.E. Bar) and after they broke up she was dating Jack..I dont' really know the history but Jack and my dad do not get along. And I'm pretty sure Jack is some sort of psycho. ANYWAYS...my dad got a call the one night (he is the night push on his rig) saying that Jack would be moving to HIS rig the next day to be his boss..My dad was, needless to say, upset and said either you move me to a different rig or I am on a bus out of here first thing in the morning to the airport and going back home. Well first thing the next morning they had him moved to a different rig. I don't blame him, I don't think I would feel very safe being on the same job as Jack.
Next week I have the oilwives meeting to go to, which is even more special than usual b/c Jara is being FORCED to bring her babykins with her!! I haven't met him yet, so I am very excited to meet the little baby Austin!
Is everyone else hammered, yet again, with an abundance of weddings to go to this year? I guess I only have 2 this summer, and then one in January. So a little calmer than last year when we had 4 weddings to go to , plus our own!
On a last side note...my last blog was talking about March--lion or lamb..I can confidently say March is definetly going out like a lion. It's warm enough, but the snow and rain has started, and makes for some very blah weather outside!

Lions and Lambs

March, the infamous month of Lions and Lambs. I guess March came in like a Lamb with no storms, but it was dang cold!! The past week has been so nice, besides yesterday and today. I have been getting out walking every night which has felt so good, and the kids really enjoy it too, not to mention Bella!

The kids are doing good. They are going over to Shannon's house now. Shannon has a boy the same age as Dom, and a girl the same age as Paige, plus a girl in grade 1. The kids have really enjoyed going over there, and it's so much easier b/c it's just down the street from me! I think Dominic being around Willis (Shannon's boy) has realy helped with his potty training FINALLY!!! I am wanting to start Paige potty training, but she screams bloody murder the second I put her on it, so I dunno...will maybe try and find her a new potty that's just for HER. Her favorite words lately have been up. Used like up, up , up! And she finally says mom, and she just thinks she's the smartest cookie ever! looks at me MOM and laughs and laughs..oh ya she's one of a kind!! I just love her. Dominic, is almost FOUR!! WHAT????!!! where have 4 years gone?? He is my little man, I love him so! Being 4 ,however, means Daddy (and the RARE time mommy -hahaha) have to watch their mouths, b/c he hears and remembers everything.
Jared's mom and dad are coming down this weekend, so that will be nice to see them. Jared doesn't have any DEFINITE time off for Easter so we will be staying at home. I think I may make a big Turkey supper or something Saturday (like tom) to have with Jared's parents. We'll see though, I have a relay for life meeting with my team at 2 pm, and then a candlelight party at Sarah's...so busy busy.
And somewhere in there I have to squeeze in, laundry and the clean sweep on the spare bedroom. I am so very excited to be able to sleep in tomorrow. I say sleep in like it's ssooo late, the kids will probably have me up at 8 or 830, but that's nice!!
I bought something on Ebay today. tee hee.. SO EXCITED, but I am going to keep it on the down low until it gets here. I am always skeptical that something may be wrong with whatever I buy.
I am in my bestest friend Heidi's wedding next January. And just found out the other day the date and everything. I am so excited for it. It has been changed to the Dominican. We haven't decided yet if we will go for 2 wks or just the one week, we'll have to see what we can work out for the kids. A few more years and they will be old enough to take on a trip!!
Work has still been going good. Full time for almost 2 months now, how crazy is that. It's been hard though, not gonna lie. Loading the kids up every morning is not an easy task, and when I get off work I just want 5 min to myself, but the kids miss me so much they want every minute WITH me! haha
Jared slept in for work this morning. haha , I shouldn't laugh though b/c if he wouldn't have called I probably would've too!
Last week I held a tupperware/epicure party at Jolene's house. It was so fun, she is getting a bunch of free stuff b/c of the amount of sales she had. I love free stuff haha.
Is anyone else having a hard time believing that next weekend is Easter already?? I really need to get shopping and buy the kids something. Considering we still have halloween candy left, I won't be buying much candy...I just do not like giving them it!!
PS--does anyone want to pledge me for Relay for Life. My team will be taking alternating turns walking for a 12 hour period, and I need pledges. All proceeds go to the Cancer Society!! Think about it

Sputter sputter cough cough

Well the deathly cough has returned. Just when you think you're over it, it's full force back..I swear these viruses that around right now are brutal!! My chest and back are incredibly sore from coughing so hard. And poor Paige is sick now too. She's cute though..she won't cough and won't cough and then sees me cough and does a little *cough* cough*. She likes to copy, that's for sure.

Jared and I were planning on taking the kids up to Dauphin this month, then Jared's buddies up there said nope the first weekend in April..Ok we didn't think much of it, sure sounds good! then all of a sudden WAIT , that's the weekend of the Amosah Benefit. I swear we are both sooo scatterbrained sometimes that it isn't even funny. So I guess we'll be going a different weekend.

We still have YET to buy our bedroom furniture. I just keep procrastinating, and thinking, is that FOR SURE what I want, I say "I" b/c Jared doesn't really care haha. BUT we are getting the kids new beds by the end of the month, and my parents are coming down at the end of March to help build a closet in their room. It's gonna be an intense L shaped closet with lots of shelves to hold books and toys too.

With that minor renovation, and my front yard project, plus painting my kitchen cupboards and sometime finishing the trim and the few touchups with the bathroom...we definetly will have a busy spring schedule. If anyone has any tips on landscape ideas for a small front yard I am definetly looking for some inspiration.

Back at a later date!

One month later

Hello all!!
It's been one month since I officially became a fulltime worker! Life has definetly altered since then, but has been relatively good. We all got the flu and that was not fun. Mallory, Jared and I took turns running to the bathroom. It hit us all so suddenly, and it was confirmed that it was not food poisoning since that day we had all ate at different places. Dominic never really got the flu (knock on wood), so he was lucky! Poor Paige though had it for quite some time, it definetly wasn't the 24 hour flu for her!
Life sure is busy when you are working for 40 hours (and gone for more like 50 when you account for travel time) a week. I definetly appreciate the weekends off to get laundry done and get our house back in order.
Dominic is my real only problem in the mornings (getting ready to leave the house). I think it's just b/c I have to wake him up, he is a BEAR! Today was the worst he has ever been. He threw a tantrum b/c I told him to get dressed and he pushed over his kitchen set, then cried b/c his kitchen set was knocked over and then cried and screamed and wined b/c he was hungry..oh man. I definetly was thinking "do all mom's have this problem in the morning, or do I have a hellion kid?"
This weekend, Alvin and the chipmunks is playing in Carnduff and I think I may take the kids to see it, but we shall see b/c every time I decide to go...Carnduff up and cancels the movie!
This past weekend me and the kids went with my parents down to Minot. Jared joined us on Sunday, and then my parents left Sunday. The kids had such a riot playing in the pool, if you haven't already you should check out my videos on facebook. It was a nice trip and SOOO many sales, everybody getting the summer stock in I guess. We found a really nice roter tiller for 1/2 the price we found it up in Canada! That was so nice! I also got the kids each a Columbia winter jacket w/ ski pants for next year, they were on sale so cheap it was hard to resist!!
I am going in the Carnduff Bonspiel next weekend with the girls from work. I am looking forward to it, besides the fact that I have no clue on how to curl!! haha. Should be good for a good laugh if nothing else!
Anyways, that should be a long enough post to make up for my lack of posting lately!! You have to forgive me, if I have spare time, all I want to do is VEG!! but soon enough it will be yard time again!! This year's project is the FRONT YARD! WAHOO!!

Relay for Life

I have organized a team for Relay for Life. There is room for 10 people on the team. 2 of the 10 have already been filled. And a few more filling right away!! If you aren't already on a team, you should definetly consider joining our team!!!

Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the Cancer Society. All proceeds go to the Cancer Society. It takes place Friday June 6th at 7 pm and ends Saturday at 7 am. If anyone's interested in joining our team, let me know!! It is a really good time and all for such a great cause!

We still have to choose a team name, and do all the fun stuff involved such as making banners, chosing a theme, chosing "costumes". The sooner you join the team, the more you get to be involved in!!!

Shivering with a smile.

My 2nd week of fulltime work is behind me! And it's going so incredibly well. It's so nice to have a job that you don't dread going into. I am, however, really missing the kiddo's. At lunch I was sitting in subway and everyone had little kids and I just wished I was at home with mine. haha.
We are finally starting to get over this wretched cold. Mallory ended up catching it, Jared hasn't YET anyways.
Paige has an infatuation with Mallory's boyfriend, Chris. She says his name, and blushes and covers her mouth when he looks at her. It is so adorable.
Yesterday I had to go pick my Dad up from the airport in Minot. My sister, Chris and Sara came along for the ride. We made a quick stop at Walmart and headed to the Airport...good thing B/c the plane had already landed!!! But we got him back safe and sound. Two weeks until I go down to Minot again. The kids are going to have so much fun playing in the water park. I am really looking forward to it. We still have to wait and see if Jared will have the weekend off to come with us.
Anyways, not much else new around here, the kids are doing great. We lived through the cold snap, I just really hope there isn't another one b/c I HATED it. I am so ready for winter to be over.
I better go get some supper on.
