We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins this year. Dominic was so eager to do the cutting and he did such a marvelous job. I love how they HATE the feeling the pumpkin guts give them, but they always eventually give in and get their hands right in there!

Happy Halloween!
Well my Picture Fall class has officially ended. It was such an inspiring class, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to begin "Picture the holidays", in the meantime I've decided to enroll in "Great Pictures with any Camera" while I try to catch up on my photography certificate!

Contraversy
This show has raised a lot of contraversy. I do not agree with this type of life style, but I am not the judge...there is only one judge.
Watch Oprah Tomorrow while she interviews the husband, 3 wives, and 1 fiancee! (WOW!)

SURPRISE!!

My siblings and I, as well as our mom, drove up to where my dad is working until next August. It was an incredible eye-opening experience, and made me very thankful to live in such a wonderful community!
We surprised my Stad (Step-Dad), as he only knew my mom was showing up. It was a 10 hour drive for my family and my one sister, 7 hours for my sister and mom, and over 10 hours for my brother. Getting everyone to manage to get time off ALL on the same weekend was remarkable, let alone getting everyone to agree to drive such a distance to surprise him!
All our cooking was done ahead of time, so we didn't have to worry about spending a whole day cooking. This was very important when we had to spend 2 of our days driving. It all turned out so well, I have such great siblings that co-operate (and yes, do what I say teehee)
We enjoyed visiting with one another; but also enjoyed numerous activities.
Playing Turbo Cranium, Fishing, Hiking, Photographs, Scavenger Hunt (for the kids), watching the new Karate Kid, playing Bohnanza , watching numerous episodes of the first 48, and generally having a great time!
We are never sure when everyone's schedule's will work out for us all to get together again, so moments like these are truly treasured!
Picture Fall: Stripping Down

Today's assignment was to take a photo of an object with a lot of texture, and then using a post-photo editing program strip all or most of the color from the image to accentuate it.

ten.ten.ten

What a day today is!! 10/10/10!!! I am a sucker for dates, as our daughter was born on 6/6/6. It was such a special day, and my siblings and I got to take the oppurtunity to surprise our stepdad at his northern posting! It was just so awesome that it ended up being 10 of us there, and we planned our mini photo shoot for Sunday which was 10/10/10.
I am so thankful to have got to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my family, and to celebrate this special date with them as well!
Picture Fall: Preparations

Today's assignment was to take a photo in the kitchen of something that brings you joy in the fall.
I've already shown you this photo, but this is the one I chose to use for today as it fit perfectly. Salsa Making is definetly such a joy in the fall. It is a lot of hard work, but the joy of having my salsa cabinet replenished is totally worth it!
